Ever since 2020 I started writing about the past year, and about what do I expect in the new one, there was always a pattern. 2020 was a terrible year. We know, we suffered a lot. We probably still don’t know, and won’t know about the rest. But despite the national and international drama, each next year brought more of unknown, and little expected events.
I don’t see any reason 2025 will be any different. Five years after the pandemics, many of the emergency regulations are still in order. The entire fabric of our society has been changed. How to find a proper balance between work at the office and remote work. Where, if and how to wear the masks. But as a physician and scientist, I want address two issues dear to my heart.
- The one-in-the-century epidemiological disaster was an opportunity to find out what is COVID, and how to treat it. It was a dream project to receive a Nobel Prize in medicine. Despite the sheer number of sick people, practically unlimited founds, and the best scientists involved, or being ready to be involved, in studying the pandemics, nothing significant came out of it. The scientific community should be ashamed of itself.
- Our children’s education, from kindergartens to the universities, came to a screeching halt. They were either furloughed, hours were cut, or taught by zoom. This was a crime. Two years of lost educational time cannot be brought back.
But time goes on. I deeply believe 2025 will come with a slew of new opportunities. New projects are coming to fruition. We will start with a completely redesigned webpage. It’s being done with the help of AI.
Going live soon.
